If you want to be in attendance for Conor McGregor vs. Donald Cerrone at UFC 246, we’ve got some bad news for you.

According to a report from Yahoo! Sports’ Kevin Iole, UFC president Dana White has confirmed tickets for the event have sold out after the first day of being on sale. UFC 246 now has an official gate of $10 million.

“Per @danawhite #UFC246 sold out @TMobileArena on first day on sale. Gate of $10 million.”

McGregor vs. Cerrone is certainly an interesting matchup between two proven exciting strikers. However, many believe that “Cowboy” could have an easy day at the office should he opt to take things to the ground and utilize his grappling skills, a department McGregor has struggled with in the past. However, in a recent interview, Cerrone claims he’s doing to stand with the Irishman.

“I’m going to go out there and stand up with him because that’s what everyone wants to see,” Cerrone said. “Someone said earlier that’s like fighting not to win almost, but hell no. I’d rather go down in history as having the greatest fight ever and losing than fighting to just win and winning.

“I’m going out there to put on the line and throw down and give everyone what they want to see. To me, that’s what I want my legacy to be. I don’t want to be the guy that took the easy way and just ran the whole fight and tried to point fight. Hell, no. I’m going to stand and try to throw down.”

Will you be tuning into UFC 246? Who are you picking between McGregor and Cerrone?

Conor McGregor has a very important fight coming up against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.

The two will headline the pay-per-view (PPV) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 18. Given how much McGregor has been in the news for the wrong reasons over the past several years, many expected Cerrone to try and talk some trash leading up to their fight.

However, speaking to MMA Junkie, Cerrone says he won’t talk bad about the Irishman. Cerrone points out a star as massive as McGregor lives under a microscope, and everything he does is magnified.

“I’m not going to talk badly about him,” Cerrone said. “I don’t really care. He does his life and whatever he wants to do he can. I’m just as wild and crazy as him, but in a different way. The media keep asking me, ‘What do you think of the trouble he gets in?’ The guy lives under a microscope.

“Anything he does people want to blow up and make a big deal about it. That’s his life. I would never even dig at something like that. Hell, no. Only goddamn thing I’m talking about is fighting only. Anything outside of it – that’s you. You do what you want to do. You want to meet me in the cage and fight – fighting that’s a whole different thing – but I’m not going to bring up anything from the past or anything he’s done outside the octagon.

“What the dude has done inside of the cage, and what he’s done for the sport is amazing. I’m honored to fight a guy like him and it’s going to be one hell of a battle and I’m looking forward to it.”

In regards to his matchup with McGregor, many believe it could be an easy day at the office for Cerrone should he take McGregor down and grapple with him. McGregor’s grappling has been somewhat of a flaw in his game over the years, with all of his pro defeats coming by way of submission. However, Cerrone said he plans on standing with McGregor, where “Notorious” flourishes.

“I’m going to go out there and stand up with him because that’s what everyone wants to see,” Cerrone said. “Someone said earlier that’s like fighting not to win almost, but hell no. I’d rather go down in history as having the greatest fight ever and losing than fighting to just win and winning.

McGregor will headline UFC 246 on pay-per-view (PPV) from the T-Mobile Arena in “Sin City” against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Speaking to “The Ak & Barak Show” on Sirius XM, Cerrone noted that, should McGregor beat Cerrone at UFC 246, he’s interested in fighting the Irishman next. (H/T BJPenn.com)

“On the opponent and time we’re waiting until further notice and that further notice is January 18th, Conor fights Cowboy, Conor takes care of business, that’s a fight that we’re interested in, obviously.”

Masvidal comes off a tremendous 2019 in which he won all three of his fights in devastating fashion. The first being a second-round knockout win over Darren Till in England. Then, Masvidal pulled off the fastest knockout in UFC history by knocking out Ben Askren in five seconds with a flying knee.

Lastly, “Gamebred” captured the BMF Championship by taking out Nate Diaz at UFC 244 from Madison Square Garden in November. Now, Masvidal is looking to make the biggest paychecks possible moving forward, and there’s no bigger paycheck that can present itself than the one that he’d get fighting McGregor.

What do you think about Masvidal saying he might be interested in fighting McGregor?

Conor McGregor is set to make his return to the Octagon next month. The Irishman headlines the UFC 246 pay-per-view (PPV) event from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 18, 2020, against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

Speaking to MMA Fighting’s “Eurobash” podcast recently, McGregor’s striking coach, Owen Roddy, was asked about McGregor’s 2020 plans. It was suggested earlier this year that McGregor has three fights planned for 2020. His fight with Cerrone, a fight with the winner of the BMF Title fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz, which Masvidal won, and then a rematch with lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

However, UFC president Dana White has recently come out and said that, if McGregor beats Cerrone, and Nurmagomedov beats Tony Ferguson in April, a rematch between McGregor and Nurmagomedov could possibly happen. Roddy notes that, as far as he knows, McGregor’s plan to fight the BMF Champ remains the same.

“That’s the plan,” Roddy said. “That’s what he wants to do and there’s one thing I always say: when Conor says he wants to do something, if anyone is going to do it, he can. But, let’s not look past Cerrone. He’s a tricky opponent and he’s a veteran with tricks up his sleeve. But Conor going in there the way he looks now, he should do well.”

McGregor will be fighting at welterweight, a division in which his record sits at 1-1 after his two bouts with Nate Diaz. However, Roddy says McGregor has been at this weight for quite some time now, and his body has become accustomed to operating at it.

Looking at the second fight with Nate Diaz fight, that’s what you’re going to see,” Roddy said. “It’s that Conor. He’s been at this weight for awhile. He’s used to training at this weight; grappling and sparring, running and doing the miles. His body knows how to move that weight around now and he knows how to move it around quickly.

“There’s no killing himself to make weight and there’s no limit calories in the last three weeks of camp trying to get down to weight…that’s gone. Now, he’s just focusing on his training, doing what he’s doing, looking at his opponent and breaking him down and dismantling him in the fight.”

What do you think about a potential fight between Masvidal and McGregor next?
