Jiri Prochazka rips 'Fraud champion' Magomed Ankalaev with fierce threat: 'I want your head'

Adding some fuel to the fire on his recent rivalry with newly-minted champion, Magomed Ankalaev, ex-titleholder, Jiri Prochazka has ripped the Russian as a “fraud” gold holder, and issued him a stark warning in a bid to land himself a grudge fight against the former.

Prochazka, a former undisputed light heavyweight champion during his Octagon tenure, returned triumphantly at UFC 311 at the beginning of the year.

And making relative lightwork of fellow ex-champion, Jamahal Hill, Czech finishing ace, Prochazka turned in a dominant third round knockout win over the Contender Series alum in the pair’s heated grudge fight.

Staking his claim for a shot at Ankalaev following his dethroning of common-foe, Alex Pereira at UFC 313 earlier this month, Prochazka was immediately shut down by the Makhachkala native.

“I think you are a fraud and so many guys deserve it more than you you need to go win some fights,” Magomed Ankalaev tweeted from his official X account.

And urging Prochazka — whom he labelled a “fake ninja” overnight to fight UFC London winner, Carlos Ulberg, Prochazka issued a severe threat to Ankalaev, claiming he would “hunt” for his head if they ever share the Octagon in the future.

“Who wrote it, you? Or some your slave?” Jiri Prochazka replied to Magomed Ankalaev overnight. “Here you showed to everyone who’s fraud champion. Like I said, I want your head. If I have to go through someone else to hunt you, So, let’s go for that.”

Charles Oliveira calls for UFC 317 title fight with Islam Makhachev: 'Let's make this happen'

Charles Oliveira has once more staked his claim for a shot at lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev in a title rematch — urging the promotion to book him against the Russian as soon as June in a blockbuster headliner at UFC 317 during International Fight Week.

Oliveira, who retains the number two rank in the lightweight division, most recently returned to winning-ways in a dominant second career win over former title challenger, Michael Chandler in the pair’s rematch over the course of five rounds.

Prior to that, the Sao Paulo finisher suffered a controversial split decision loss to the number one rated, Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300 last year, in a narrow decision loss to the surging Armenian challenger.

And yet to be booked for his return amid links to a symbolic BMF title rematch with former featherweight foe, Max Holloway, Oliveira seems to have his focus aimed at the lightweight title-proper first and foremost.

“The UFC has a lot of guys who talk a big game,” Charles Oliveira said. “I can talk because I’ve been here for almost 15 years… I want to fight during International Fight Week, [against] (Islam) Makhachev too… UFC, let’s make this happen. This is the fight everyone wants to see.”

First fighting the current pound-for-pound number one back in 2022, Oliveira, who was stripped of his lightweight crown took on Makhachev in a vacant title fight in Abu Dhabi, where he was submitted with a second round arm-triangle choke.

X – Cage Warriors

Yannick Bahati has denied using a fake glove touch to knock his opponent out cold at this weekend’s Cage Warriors 186 event.

Yannick Bahati now holds the record for fastest knockout in Cage Warriors history, but it comes after the fighter committed one of the cheapest shots we’ve witnessed in our decades covering MMA.

Bahati knocked out Charles Joyner in four seconds, which is impressive. Not so impressive: Bahati holding his hand out as the bout started for a glove touch, only to grab his opponent’s mitt and hammer him in the face with a punch.

It’s a perfectly legal thing to do, but not something that’s going to win you any sportsmanship awards.

Neither will Bahati’s statement on the subject, which tells you to ignore what you saw with your eyes and believe his words instead.

“There was no glove or fake glove touch on my part only hard work,” Bahati wrote. “I asked but he didn’t respond so I went straight to my game plan.”

“I was locked in, focused and nothing was getting in my way to passing that message to 2 sons.”

Let’s be real: Joyner did hold his hand out for the touch. That’s how Bahati was able to grab it and throw his underhanded right. While fighters are expected to protect themselves at all times, using the customary glove touch to sucker punch your opponent is widely considered a b—h move.

This fight was a rematch of a technical draw between the two back in November 2024. The win moves Bahati to 3-6-1 over his last ten and is his first victory since May 2019.

Mike Perry’s Dirty Boxing Championship (DBC) promotion — which is co-owned by Jon Jones — debuted last night (Sat., March 22, 2025) from inside The Hangar at Regatta Harbour in Miami, Fla., which featured notable mixed martial arts (MMA) veterans leading the way.

Headlining the event was a heavyweight bout between former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight title challenger, Yoel Romero, facing off against ex-Bellator MMA fighter, Ras Hylton. And at 47 years of age, “Soldier of God” showed he still has it, scoring a third-round knockout win over his towering opponent.

See the carnage here.

In the co-main event, another former UFC veteran, Andrei Arlovski, got back in the win column himself for the first time in three years by forcing a doctor’s stoppage after busting up Terrance Hodges in the second round of their Heavyweight fight. It was the ex-UFC Heavyweight champions first finish in a decade.

Romero is pushing 47 and Arlovski is right behind him at 46, so credit to them for still being activeThey were much-needed wins for both men, but in the grand scheme of things, does a win or loss really matter at this stage of their combat careers? After all, Romero’s foe is 10-8 in MMA, while Arlovski’s victim is 2-7…not exactly legit threats.

But that’s the state of combat sports these days. Everyone is trying to be a promoter, everyone is trying to be a world-class boxer, or trying to re-invent the wheel, and every longtime veteran is trying to hang on as long as possible in order to relive their glory days. And can you really blame them for trying to make a buck off their name after providing fight fans with violent entertainment during their prime years?

Here are the full results for DBC 1:

Yoel Romero def. Ras Hylton via third-round knockout – HIGHLIGHTS!
Andrei Arlovski def. Terrance Hodges via second-round TKO (doctor’s stoppage) – HIGHLIGHTS!
Ulysses Diaz def. Brian Maxwell via first-round TKO
Mike Breeden def. Keith Speed via first-round TKO
Rob Perez def. Zac Pauga via split decision
Alexander Schenk def. Tristan Gallichan via unanimous decision
Jeff Craig def. Oluwale Bamgbose via second-round TKO
Rakim Cleveland def. Maurice Greene via first-round KO – HIGHLIGHTS!
Kat Nelson def. Claudia Zamora via unanimous decision
CJ Brant def. Gabriel Macario via first-round TKO
Sean Hotusing def. Diego Romo via unanimous decision
Corey Jackson def. Marcellus Wallace via first-round KO
Guilherme Bastos def. Gabriel Morales via unanimous decision

Top UFC Lightweight Mocks Paddy Pimblett’s Tearful Reaction To Molly McCann’s Retirement

A usually laid back lightweight contender had a surprisingly hostile take on Paddy Pimblett’s reaction to Molly McCann’s defeat and subsequent retirement this weekend.

While he wasn’t in action, Saturday’s UFC Fight Night in London proved to be an emotionally difficult night for Pimblett, who saw two of his teammates fall to defeat inside The O2.

After Nathan Fletcher fell on the wrong side of a close decision in his second Octagon appearance opposite Caolan Loughran, it was the turn of Molly McCann. The Scouse strawweight has had her fair share of positive memories in England’s capital, but the March 22 bout didn’t go her way.

“Meatball” was submitted inside the first round by late-notice replacement opponent Alexia Thainara, who needed just four and a half minutes to find the submission victory in her UFC debut. McCann went on to announce her retirement.

Footage of a tearful Paddy Pimblett was captured cageside as he reacted to the conclusion of his longtime friend’s career in mixed martial arts. One prominent name in his division, however, evidently didn’t care for the moment.

Mateusz Gamrot dished out a rare piece of trash talk on X, branding his 155-pound peer a “pussy” and vowing to make him cry again inside the cage down the line.

“Pussy paddy will cry the same way after our fight.. we know it! @PaddyTheBaddy

For now, it will be Michael Chandler with the opportunity to dish out some punishment to “The Baddy.” The pair are set to co-headline next month’s UFC 314 pay-per-view in Miami, Florida.

Gamrot, meanwhile, remains without a date in the calendar for his next fight. “Gamer” most recently suffered a split decision setback against Dan Hooker in Australia last September.
