Jake Paul

Social media influencer turned boxer Jake Paul will finally take on Love Island star Tommy Fury, who also happens to be the younger half-brother of Tyson Fury, in a catchweight of 185lbs, scheduled for eight rounds.

Both men hold undefeated records, although neither man has a win over a notable opponent, in the realm of boxing at least. Jake Paul has made a name for himself by taking on a number of prominent names from the world of MMA. Most recently, he defeated former UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, in his highest profile bout to date.

The Problem Child’ also holds back to back wins over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, as well as a 1st round KO finish over Ben Askren. Stoppage victories over former NBA player Nate Robinson and fellow YouTuber Ali Eson Gib make up the remainder of Jake Paul’s 6-0 record.

On the other hand, Tommy Fury (8-0-0) has been fighting boxers, but only Daniel Bocianski is of any note. Bocianski entered the fight with a 10-1 record, and was relatively soundly defeated by Fury. His other opponents include the likes of Callum Ide 0-26-2), Scott Williams (0-9-0) and Przemyslaw Binienda (2-26-0). TNT’ also followed Paul’s route in taking on names from the world of MMA, having faced off against former Bellator fighter, Antony ‘Pretty Boy’ Taylor.

After huge amount of trash talk, canceled bouts, and controversy, Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will finally face off this weekend. Betway currently have Jake Paul lined as a -150 favorite, with Fury sitting as a +110 underdog.

Jake Paul may have a relatively high KO rate, but that has typically been against smaller opponents, such as Askren who competed in MMA at 170lbs. Against Fury, he will be facing an opponent who is essentially the same size as him. As a result, ‘The Problem Child’ will not have the same power advantage that he had in bouts such as the Askren fight. If you agree with this assessment, then taking Jake Paul to win by decision may be your best bet. Betway have this prop lined at +200.

Alternatively, if you fancy Tommy Fury to end the Jake Paul ‘hype train’ once and for all, ‘TNT’ to win by KO/TKO is priced at an enticing +260.

Who are you taking? Jake Paul or Tommy Fury?

Jake Paul calls out former boxing champion, with bizarre Anderson Silva-related clause

Jake Paul , Carl Froch , Anderson Silva

Jake Paul may be currently trying to gain his first victory over a professional boxer this weekend as he takes on a reality star with fighting in his blood Tommy Fury, but he has set his sights on a much more accomplished veteran of the squared circle.

Carl Froch is a former super-middleweight world champion, best known for selling out Wembley alongside George Groves. 33-2 as a professional, he retired following back-to-back wins over the aforementioned Groves in one of the biggest domestic doubles in history.

You would think this would entitle Froch to a fight with a YouTuber, but not according to Jake Paul. He would instead have Froch fight a former opponent of his, as well as a UFC legend in Anderson Silva, of course on one of his undercards. Froch, from England, is 45 years old, and 8 years removed from any kind of sanctioned fighting. Nevertheless, he would most certainly be Paul’s most skillful challenger to date. Paul though seems more focused on how much better he is doing in comparison to Groves.

Jake Paul Picks Silva Over Froch

Carl Froch is mad because I made more in 1 year than he made his whole career. You want the payday. I get it.” Paul Tweeted. Jake Paul seems confident that Sliva would be more than a handful for Froch, and even expects Silva to be the probable winner.

You want the payday. I get it. So let’s do this, fight Anderson Silva on my next card, and if you get lucky and beat him, then we can step in the ring and you make your career payday. Let me know.

Although at first glance, Jake Paul seems to have misplaced confidence in Silva. After remembering his Julio Cesar Chavez Jr win though, it may not be as delusional a take as initially thought. He followed up the initial tweet by highlighting the level of Froch’s opponents at the same stage of their boxing careers. They of course, due to the source, come out favorably for “The Problem Child”.

Who do you have should the bout come to fruition, Jake Paul or Carl Froch?

Jake Paul has plenty to focus on right now. In addition to helping the PFL with its promotion of Francis Ngannou vs. Renan Ferreira on Oct. 19 in Saudi Arabia, Paul is preparing himself for his highly anticipated boxing showdown with Mike Tyson on Nov. 15 in Dallas.

What comes next for “The Problem Child” in the aftermath of the Tyson fight is unknown. Will he try for another boxing match? Or will he finally look to make his PFL debut after signing with the promotion at the start of 2023?

The younger of the Paul brothers has found plenty of success in the boxing ring regardless of who has come his way — all except for one person: Tommy Fury.

Many have wondered when a rematch between the two will come, especially given Paul and Fury failed to come to terms on a rematch, and the Brit has fought just once since their initial encounter, defeating KSI in a highly lackluster outing in October 2023.

Though one might expect that Fury would pursue a rematch with Paul in the boxing ring, it appears he’s open to doing battle in the cage, too.

In a recent YouTube video, Fury showed off some of his time training alongside Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall.

Tommy Fury Calls Out Jake Paul For PFL Debut After Training With UFC Champion Tom Aspinall

In the video, Fury suggested that he is more than willing to cross over to MMA if it means getting his hands on Paul again.

“Jake Paul’s in the PFL, isn’t he?” Fury said. “I’m going to smash his face in when I get better at MMA. I’ll beat him in boxing, and in the cage. A big useless prick. I reckon a year-and-a-half to two years of training until I’ll beat him in a [MMA] fight. It’ll be no problem in the cage.

“He’s got the funds, he’s got the best trainers in the world, he’s got the best sparring in the world. So, he’s doing all right. But he’s no match for me. I swear to you, next time I fight him, I’ll knock him out.”

Paul has not responded to Fury’s remarks as of writing.

Since the loss to Fury, the Cleveland native has gone on to defeat Nate Diaz by decision and score knockouts against Andre August, Ryan Bourland, and Mike Perry.

Tommy Fury refused to show up for a press conference between himself and Jake Paul. Fury and Paul are booked for a boxing in Saudi Arabia in just two weeks on February 26, and Tommy Fury recently no-showed a press appearance in the nation.

In an interview with MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin, the 23-year-old boxer explained why he chose to not show up. He said:

“I can clear that up in two seconds. Basically, Jake Paul signed up into the world of professional boxing and I am a professional athlete, a professional boxer. I always have been and [ask] any professional boxer and they’ll tell you this — no one breaks camp, mid to the end [of training camp] to fly all the way to Saudi Arabia, have a 10 minute press conference, fly all the way back to Manchester, complete my camp then fly all the way back to Saudi Arabia again the following week.”

To Tommy Fury, the timing of the press conference didn’t make much sense. He continued:

“Now why the press conference couldn’t wait until a week later on fight week is beyond me. Most big fights, they schedule press conferences on fight week. I don’t know what is going on there.”

Tommy Fury would rather spend time in the gym preparing for Jake Paul

Tommy Fury will be entering his match against the YouTuber with a perfect 8-0 record. ‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul will also be putting his unblemished record on the line with a 6-0 professional career record to his name. On February 26, someone will take their first career loss.

Tommy Fury explained that he does not want to do a press conference when he could be in the gym getting ready. In the MMA Fighting Interview with MMA Fighting, he explained:

“I’m not interested in press conferences. I’m interested in completing my camp, which has been the best camp of my career and I’m ready to KO this man and get him out of the sport.”

With a knockout on his mind, Tommy Fury promises a victory over Jake Paul. He concluded with:

“We’re two weeks out. I’m ripped, I’m ready, I’m fit, I’m strong and I’ve got more in the tank than what it takes to beat Jake Paul. Don’t worry about that.” [Transcript courtesy of MMA Fighting]

Jake Paul, Tommy Fury

Jake Paul didn’t hold back when asked about his fight prediction against Tommy Fury. The 26-year-old is set to face Fury on Feb. 26 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

Paul didn’t take too kindly of Tommy Fury no-showing the press conference for their upcoming boxing fight. It was announced that Fury had a personal matter. The undefeated Paul labeled Fury as “unprofessional” for his absence.

Jake Paul Says The Pressure is on Tommy Fury

Paul spoke with the media about his thoughts on Fury as a fighter. He believes his future opponent doesn’t have the experience to last in the ring with him. Fury has never fought an eight-round fight until Feb.26.

Three to four rounds,” Paul said. “The kid’s never been tested. He’s never been in a hard fight. His combined record of opponents is 20 wins, 200 hundred losses. He’s never been eight rounds, he’s never been in there with a dog, and I have something to prove. I’ve got two chips on my shoulder. People say I’ve got a chip on my shoulder, I’ve got two of them.” (h/t MMA Fighting)

He’s been spoon-fed his whole entire life. Piggybacked off of his brother. Got into the business because that’s what he was supposed to do. Got famous off of some reality show and now he’s just riding the wave, trying to get a paycheck so that [Fury’s wife, influencer Molly-Mae Hague] isn’t the one making all the money in the relationship. But I’m going to show him on February 26 that this is the hurt business. He’s not going to like this sport after I’m done with him.” (h/t MMA Fighting)

Paul is 6-0 in his professional boxing career. He’s coming off a unanimous decision over MMA legend Anderson Silva. Fury holds a 8-0 record. He last beat Daniel Bocianski in London, England at Wembley Stadium last April.
