They sat down with #6 ranked Bantamweight, Takeya Mizugaki at the WEC 52 open workouts inside the Palms Casino Resort to talk about his upcoming headlining bout against “The California Kid” Urijah Faber. Though translator, Shu Hirata was there to help with the conversation, Mizugaki had fun with the RawVegas crew talking about his favorite junk food, McDonald’s and American fighting rituals versus Japanese fighting rituals including the all too curious question of where he stands on sexual abstinence before a fight. Our friends at RawVegas.tv were impressed with the media turnout at the WEC 52 open workouts today inside the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, but were not thrilled to ask the same questions as everyone else. So they decided to focus on a favorite topic this month, Arianny Celeste gracing the cover of the November issue of Playboy magazine and if WEC Ring Girl, Brittney Palmer could hold her own in an issue of Playboy. Wondering if there were any questions that Urijah Faber hasn’t been asked, RawVegas decided to ask him which question he was tired of hearing and which question he’d love to be asked. UFC LightHeavyweight, Stephan Bonnar invited the folks down at RawVegas.tv to sit in on a Strength and Conditioning session at Philippi Sports Institute in Las Vegas.  Bonnar talks about the creative spelling of his TUF 12 Finale opponent, Igor Pokrajac and how he’s preparing for their December 4th bout.  He also explains his thoughts on fighting teammates and why Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch may be so opposed but adds that he would definitely fight Forrest Griffin again, saying he grew up with lots of brothers and suggesting it’s no different than fighting with them and getting over it.  Bonnar tells us he is signed on for Color Commentating the upcoming WEC: Faber Vs. Mizuyaki November 11th fight in Las Vegas but is unsure about his future commentating with the new UFC/WEC merger.  Full video below:

MMA Fix Friends TJ Lavin & Ty Pinney Hospitalized in Las Vegas

BMX pro and MTV correspondent, TJ Lavin and RawVegas.tv host Ty Pinney who are a part of the MMA Fix video family have both been hospitalized in eerily similar accidents within 2 days of each other. Ty Pinney was in a bike accident at Lavin’s home on Wednesday night. Lavin crashed his bike during dirt qualifying for the Dew Tour Championships last night. Lavin wore a The Horror Project (a clothing company owned by Pinney) t-shirt in honor of Pinney while he competed.
The two men who are good friends are currently in ICU at the same hospital in Las Vegas. Lavin has suffered brain swelling, a shattered wrist, rib injuries and is in a medically induced coma.  Pinney’s condition is not believed to be medically induced.
We here at MMA Fix wish both men a speedy and full recovery. You can find Lavin’s commentation on Fix here during his guest appearance picking his fight winners for UFC 79 as Lavin is an MMA fan.
