Jake Paul is hoping to put the claims off a ‘No Knockout’ clause to bed following on from the announcement he will be offering Tyron Woodley the chance at $500,000 if he is able to KO or TKO ‘The Problem Child.’

Paul took the opportunity to speak on this matter at a virtual news press conference yesterday.

“You know me. I like to make things more interesting all the way across the board.

“There’s been this rumour going around about a ‘no knockout’ clause in my contracts. Someone started it and everyone else ran with it. People are like sheep. They believe everything they read or see, and they go which way the crowd is going.

“That’s been a rumour that’s completely untrue. I’d be in jail for rigging fights. That’s illegal. We just wanted to squash that rumour right away and from now on we’ll be giving bonuses to my opponents if they can knock me out. We want to incentivize them and prove to the media and the world that all of these rumours aren’t true.”

This was also backed by Jake Paul’s adviser Nakisa Bidarian who pointed out the contractual stipulation in place for Woodley.

“And to be clear, that’s contractual in Tyron’s agreement. There’s a contractual agreement that if he knocks out or TKOs Jake, he’ll get a $500,000 bonus payment.”(Transcribed by MMAJunkie)

Following on from their previous meeting which saw Jake Paul defeat Tyron Woodley via split decision, Woodley was forced to fulfill his obligations by getting a Jake Paul tattoo to get a shot at the rematch, and a chance of redemption.

What is next for Jake Paul?

Does another win here over Tyron Woodley boost Paul’s credibility as a boxer? The initial matchup was supposed to be the big test for Jake Paul. Many people felt he had bit off more then he could chew when his initial bout was scheduled with Tommy Fury before the brit had to had to withdraw due to injury. Now for Woodley to come in on short-notice and beat Paul is going to be a difficult task but one that he is surely going to be fired up for.

Where does Jake Paul go from here if he beats Woodley? Paul vs Fury? I’m sure Tommy Fury like many followers of boxing will be hoping to see the matchup scheduled as soon as possible.

Jacob Malkoun will return to the octagon at UFC 271 where he will be tasked with taking on undefeated AJ Dobson.

Ahead of his next bout, Malkoun sat down with LowKickMMA to chat about the impact of lockdown, his previous opponent, his upcoming fight against Dobson, and his aspirations heading into 2022. Here is what he had to say.

‘Everything’s good, we had a lockdown within Australia for a couple months, but were still training through it, doing a lot of running and a lot if cardio, kept fit and now were back into it.

“It did impact it a little bit, but we always find ways to work around stuff, so we worked around it kept fit and now I’m ready to go.

We also spoke on his previous outing in the UFC and the harsh realities he may have faced had he not been able to secure the victory over Abdul Razak Alhassan.

“Yeah, there was pressure leading up to it I acted like there wasn’t because you kind of have too.

“There was pressure. The reality was that if I lost, I would have got cut. I didn’t think about the result too much I was worried about performing, staying focused and training hard leading up to.

“I was worried about going in there and performing not the result so much so that helped me a fair bit.

“The first win felt amazing, it was a relief.

“It felt like I hit a goal, it was never a goal to make the UFC it was to win in the UFC. So, I ticked of a goal there. I was never happy just to make it you know, but now we’ve got to take the next step and keep winning.“

Jacob Malkoun will be hoping to use the momentum from his impressive performance against Alhassan to carry over into his fight against AJ Dobson. Dobson enters the fight undefeated (6-0) however Malkoun is not concerned by this and spoke to us about the importance of not overthinking your opponent and focusing on yourself.

“That’s what my mindsets been, especially in the last fight and now, especially with my boxing coach Brian. He has focused me on what I’m going to do and to let them worry about me.

“Obviously, you’ve got to know what they do well and what you can exploit but you can’t worry about them too much, you need to worry about yourself. In how you’re going to perform and what you’re going to do.

“You’ve got to be the hunter not the hunted.“

What is in store for Jacob Malkoun in 2022?

‘Mamba’ knows he has been given a difficult task when he enters the cage in February however he is ready for this when he does step foot inside the octagon. Malkoun knows the importance of a win here and already has a plan in place on what he aims to achieve following on from this matchup.

“I’m ready for fifteen minutes, and I’ve got one of the best cardio in the UFC so I’m not going to get tired, and I plan on going after him for fifteen minutes.

“I just want to keep fighting, a big goal on my list is trying to get into the top 10, I don’t know whether it’s going to be by 2022 or 2023 but that’s a big goal.

“If I do, then well keep working and see what happens.’

Malkoun will be looking to neutralise Dobson’s power come fight night and secure himself his second win within the UFC giving him the perfect start to 2022.

Anthony Smith and Aleksandar Rakic were poised to meet in a potential rematch in December, after Smith made the callout following his impressive first-round submission win over Ryan Spann.

However, ‘Lionheart’ suffered a knee injury and a staph infection which is going to keep him on the side-lines until early 2022.

Just recently it came to news the UFC is potentially looking to book a bout between former champion Jan Blachowicz and Aleksandar Rakic, leaving Smith to just stand by a watch, something that didn’t sit well with him.

“I’m afraid because I’m indifferent (about who I fight next), I’m going to get left out in the cold,” Smith said during an appearance on The Fighter vs. The Writer. “It would be a real sh*tty deal if Jiri Prochazka gets the title shot and then Rakic and Blachowicz fight each other and that kind of leaves me sitting out with my hands out.”

Smith has been trying to rematch with the Austrian ever since he was beaten by him back in August of 2020. Anthony Smith also doesn’t think it is fair for Rakic to be in the position he is when he is turning down fights.

“I know for a fact he’s turned down several fights since his last fight with Thiago Santos, it would be super unfortunate if Rakic gets to sit around and turn down the fights he doesn’t like and gets the biggest fight available in the division.

“That would hurt my feelings, to be honest with you, especially being a guy that takes every single fight offered and the ones that nobody wants.

“Nobody wants to fight Ryan Spann. It’s a tough out. He’s just tough. Whether you think you’re better than him in every aspect of the game, he has that equalizer right hand that just changes the whole trajectory of the fight.

“Jimmy Crute is not a fun fight. There’s nothing fun about that dude. There’s nothing fun preparing for that dude, and I mean that with the utmost respect because of how tough he is.

“No one wants to fight Devin Clark, cause it’s just a tough fight for no reason. You don’t get a lot out of it, and it’s a tough ass dude.”

Anthony Smith wants to take on the former champ Blachowicz

Smith himself is currently riding an impressive three-fight winning streak with all those wins coming via stoppage. Although he would love to run it back with Rakic and get that win over him, he sees more value in facing off against the former champ Jan Blachowicz.

“Listen, I’ve got a lot of respect for Aleksandar Rakic and what he’s done, and I have a lot of respect for his skills and abilities, but he’s not that well-liked.

“He’s not the UFC’s favourite guy. Beating him is kind of its own reward, personally. Because I’m not sure how highly people, the powers-that-be, would look upon that win.

“He’s not super exciting for as big as an athlete as he is, and impressive as his physique is, he doesn’t fight like that. So, he doesn’t have a fan appealing style.

“The people in his home country love the hell out of the guy, but everyone else can kind of take him or leave him. The win over Blachowicz looks better. The Rakic one makes me feel better.” (Transcribed by MMAFighting.com)

Only time will tell for Anthony Smith on how the future of the light heavyweight division plays out, but despite this bump in the road for the American, whoever he does face on his return is in for one hell of a fight.

Conor McGregor is arguably the biggest star in combat sports and given this it’s no surprise we have seen McGregor gain preferential treatment. McGregor will be hoping to use his stardom to his favour by lining up a UFC lightweight title shot on his return.

Many people believe McGregor shouldn’t be able to jump the queue past everyone in the division and one those of people who share this is opinion is former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping.

Bisping spoke on his ‘Believe You Me’ podcast about exactly why McGregor isn’t deserving to be in that position.

““Yeah, McGregor, title fight next. I don’t know, maybe he could. It wouldn’t be the craziest thing to ever happen, let’s be honest, the man is a f***ing mega-star so maybe… I doubt it, I doubt it very much but obviously I assume it was just a tweet. But you can’t look at that like it’s gospel. Obviously, that’s what Conor McGregor wants… it’s not gonna happen, but if it does happen, it wouldn’t blow my mind either. The guy has lost three of the last four I believe, so there’s no way the guy is coming back for a title shot.” (Transcribed by Sportskeeda)

There is no questioning the appeal Conor McGregor brings with him however given his recent outings to the octagon for the most part not going his way and given how active the rest of the lightweight division is currently it is very unlikely we see McGregor straight back into a title matchup.

However, convincing McGregor of that himself is going to be a lot harder.

The former two-division champion posted to social media earlier this month declaring he will be fighting whoever is holding the lightweight strap on his return. Here’s what McGregor had to say.

“Hi lads, here goes… clicks and the like. Your boss and what not. The Mac. Santy Claus. I’m facing whoever the f*ck has that LW title next. Deal with it. Take off your goggles and mark the trilogy “unfinished”. Deal with that too. The rest mentioned, after this. Deal. With. It.”

What is next for Conor McGregor?

McGregor has lost three of his last four outings to the octagon and would certainly need to secure at least one win back in the division to be pushing on for a title shot. One option is the fourth matchup with Dustin Poirier. If Poirier can get past Charles Oliveira at UFC 269, and McGregor can get a win on his return, many fans will be calling to see those two fighters step inside the octagon again.

Another option for McGregor is the Nate Diaz trilogy, Diaz gave McGregor his first loss inside the UFC, which McGregor was quick to rectify after he was able to beat Diaz in the rematch. It only seems right that these two men finish off what they started with a final bout in the trilogy.

Jon Jones announced on Twitter last night he had hit the 60-day sobriety mark following his initial miscount, just a few days earlier.

Jones’s initial announcement came just 58 days following his domestic assault incident which took place after the UFC Hall of Fame awards ceremony. However, now he has officially hit the 60-day mark Jones took to Twitter to share his achievement.

Jones also spoke on the importance of him staying sober and how he could have lost everything at a moment’s notice.

‘Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” My family, my life, my career could’ve been over after what happened in Las Vegas. But God had other plans for me. 60 days sober and counting”

The former champion also took the time to celebrate his achievement surrounded by his family.

Jon Jones Potential Return

Jon Jones will need to stay on this path of sobriety if he aims to return to the UFC to pursue the Heavyweight championship. ‘Bones’ has not competed in the octagon since his decision victory over Dominick Reyes in February 2020. Since his last outing, Jones has been posting to social media sharing his process on moving up a weight division. A process of which he feels is going very well.

‘It’s going to be nice competing without starving and dehydrating myself on fight week. This heavyweight body feels nice, I still need to get bigger and stronger. Plenty fast’

Jones will be looking to jump straight into the title picture when he debuts in his new division, whenever that may be. Given Francis Ngannou and Cyril Gane are scheduled for UFC 271 in January, and former champion Stipe Miocic is currently without a scheduled matchup, do you think the former heavyweight champion would match up well against Jones?

On one of his latest YouTube, Michael Bisping has issued a warning to fellow Brit, Tommy Fury, ahead of his December 19th bout against Jake Paul as he predicts a Paul Victory.

After months of verbal sparring, it has been announced that Jake Paul will be taking on Tommy Fury later on this year. The bout had picked up interest from fans and but after Fury fought on the undercard of Paul’s fight with Tyron Woodley in August the fight seemed inevitable.

With any Paul fight comes the circus he brings. Before the two had even been seated at a press conference, an oddity has already made its way into the storyline. After some tit-for-tat over social media, a stipulation has supposedly been added to the contract. If Tommy Fury wins he will receive an additional $500,000 but if he loses he will have to legally change his name to Tommy ‘Fumbles’.

Paul has drawn criticism since his entrance into boxing, whether it be for the things he says or his level of opponents but has shown true dedication to the sport. Although he has never beaten a ‘real boxer’, Paul’s latest win over former UFC champion Woodley is impressive for someone with as little experience as Paul. Since turning to the pro ranks in 2018 after just 10 amateur bouts, Fury’s level of opposition has been lackluster. Through seven professional fights, Fury’s opposition has had a combined record of 14-175.

Michael Bisping Is Backing Jake Paul To Beat Tommy Fury Later This Year.

“Listen, Jake Paul isn’t just a YouTuber. He’s a boxer,” Bisping said. “He used to be a YouTuber, probably still is one, but he’s also a boxer. Just because you discover your love for the sweet science later in life doesn’t mean you have to be labelled a YouTuber your entire life. The reality is Jake Paul is doing a lot of great things in the boxing world, bringing a lot of attention and eyes to the boxing world.

“Tommy Fury struggled against Anthony Taylor. If he struggled against Anthony Taylor, he’s going to struggle against Jake Paul. That’s just my two cents, and I believe he loses.” (Transcribed by Sportskeeda)

Although Paul receives a huge amount of criticism, he has shown he has a decent level of boxing and knockout power. Fury’s level of opposition has been poor but this is common practice in boxing when bringing a prospect up the ranks especially one of his age. Fury’s last performance was far from his best but he has shown in the past that he has good boxing ability.

Whether you love it or hate it the fight will bring a buzz, from the press conferences to head-to-heads or the actual fight itself expect to see it all over your social media.
