Mark Hunt’s legal battles with the UFC are far from over.

Hunt lost his previous lawsuit filed against the UFC back in January 2017. That lawsuit was filed following Hunt’s overturned defeat to Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 after the latter failed a drug test.

The “Super Samoan” demanded Lesnar’s $2.5 million purse — which was rejected — and also alleged that the UFC conspired with Lesnar to avoid anti-doping rules. Despite coming up short, Hunt warned the promotion that it wouldn’t be the last time they were sued.

That appears to be the case as the former UFC heavyweight recently revealed that he’s in the process of organizing another lawsuit. In particular, Hunt wants the Ali Act incorporated into the sport of mixed martial arts.

“Things will change when you bring the Ali Act in,” Hunt told Duello Channel (via MMA Junkie). “It totally changes things around. I’m with these guys that are part of this lawsuit class action. Once this comes, it’ll change the whole landscape of fighting. The fighters get paid more money, which is better for the employees. They’ll start living properly.

“Why do you make it to the top of the world in fighting? So you get paid well. Right now, these guys aren’t getting paid well. They’re getting ripped off.”

Hunt also had some strong words for UFC president Dana White and pointed to how champions in the promotion asking for better pay should be a bigger issue.

“I know how they do it,” Hunt said. “That’s why we’re in a couple of these lawsuits. It’s a sad thing to see these fighters coming through – young fighters thinking they can get some good money. They just fall to the side like the rest of them. When you get the champions asking for more money, you know there’s something wrong. When a guy like Stipe (Miocic) or the other champions ask for more money – he’s the champion of this company. Why is he asking for more money? Something to think about.

“These bosses and guys that own the company, these (expletive) like Dana will say all this … ‘We’ve got to do this and that. All these things will work out.’ At the end of the day, he’s just a grub. He’s a thieving little grub. That’s all he is.”

As for Hunt himself, he hasn’t competed since getting outpointed by Justin Willis back in December 2018. He was later released by the promotion but is currently targeting six more fights.

One big reason the 46-year-old is planning to compete again is because he needs the money for the lawsuit against the UFC.

“I’m talking about a boxing fight with some people now, but I want to fight six more times,” Hunt added. “I want to finish my career, but I have to pay for this lawsuit against the UFC. I’ve got to finish this. I want to fight six more times and be happy with it.

“I’ve been free for two-and-a-half years. I’ve just been doing business and stuff and organizing this lawsuit against this company.”

Do you think Hunt will be successful with this second lawsuit against the UFC?

A judge has ruled the final part of Mark Hunt’s lawsuit against the UFC in favor of the Las Vegas-based promotion.

Hunt filed a lawsuit against the UFC, UFC president Dana White and Brock Lesnar in January 2017 following his loss to the latter. It was later revealed that Lesnar tested positive for clomiphene as the result was overturned to a no contest.

However, the “Super Samoan” demanded Lesnar’s $2.5 million purse — which the UFC rejected — leading to the lawsuit. Hunt also alleged that the promotion conspired with Lesnar to avoid anti-doping rules which allowed him to compete at UFC 200.

In February, a judge ruled in favor of the UFC in all but one of Hunt’s claims which was a “single charge of breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing” according to MMA Junkie. And unfortunately for Hunt, even that was recently ruled in favor of the UFC by a judge at a US district court in Nevada.

The former UFC heavyweight would respond soon after with a warning for the promotion:

“I tried to make things even on the battlefield of Mma but again the cheating company @danawhite @ufc with all its billions they ripped everyone off win again someone will die against a steroid using cheater and your shit rip off company will be at fault @ufc I hope all u f*ckers burn filthy dog cunnnniesss 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 u can go and get fuuuuuaaaaaarrrkkkkeddd Uwonthisbattlebutthewarwillcontinue #aliactmotherf*ckers I am not the first to sue this rip off company and sure as hell wont be the last to sue the @ufc u can’t keep ripping fighters off and run monopoly on the market someone’s going to put u motherf*ckers down @danawhite @ufc”

Hunt last competed in a unanimous decision loss to Justin Willis in December last year. It was the final fight on his UFC contract, though he hasn’t explicitly stated if he’s retired or not.

Most of longtime UFC heavyweight veteran Mark Hunt’s lawsuit against the UFC has been dismissed by a Nevada judge.

U.S. District Court judge Jennifer Doresy tossed out most of Hunt’s claims yesterday (Thurs. February 14, 2019) in a filing. The sole complaint remaining is a “breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fear dealing” against the UFC. Originally, Hunt was suing the UFC, President Dana White, and UFC 200 opponent Brock Lesnar.

Here’s what Dorsey had to say about tossing out Hunt’s claims against Lesnar (via MMA Fighting):

“Like that intentional throw, the fact that Lesnar was allegedly doping violated the bout rules established by UFC and the NAC but does not alone establish that his conduct exceeded the ordinary range of activity in an MMA fight.

“As Hunt’s own allegations demonstrate, doping is an unfortunately common issue in MMA and was a risk he perceived. And although he argues that doping empowered Lesnar to move faster and hit harder, Hunt doesn’t allege that Lesnar’s conduct during the bout was somehow atypical—such as throwing Hunt out of the octagon or using ‘packed gloves’ or a weapon.

“Nor does Hunt claim that his injuries exceeded those typical of an MMA bout. Accordingly, I find that Hunt consented to his fight with Lesnar, which precludes civil-battery liability.”

Originally, Lesnar defeated Hunt via unanimous decision in the UFC 200 co-main event. However, it was later overturned to a no contest after “The Beast” tested positive for banned substances. He has since served a suspension and is eligible to fight again when he’s ready to return. It’s believed a UFC heavyweight title fight against Daniel Cormier is what’s next for Lesnar.
