Daniel Cormier came to the defense of… Jon Jones?!

Last week, ‘Bones’ had everyone talking when he went live on Instagram in the middle of the night and indicated that he was frustrated enough to take someone’s life.

“You get pissed off, disappointed. And as a Dad, you just want to kill them,” Jones said in a now-viral video which you can see right here.

‘Bones’ later apologized in a since-deleted post for the concerning comments.

“Sorry, was just getting crazy. I’m done over it,” Jones posted on X.

By then, the damage had been done and everyone chalked it up to just another drunken rant from Jones who has a long history of drug and alcohol abuse. Whether or not either was involved is uncertain, but that didn’t stop the clip from spreading like a California wildfire online and generating a slew of reactions from fans and fighters like former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping.

Cormier thinks Jon Jones’ Instagram meltdown is being blown out of proportion

However, one man came to Jones’ defense and you’d never have guessed who it was had we not already let the cat out of the bag in the headline.

“I don’t like being supportive [of Jon Jones],” Cormier said while addressing Jones’ latest scandal during a recent episode of his Funky & The Champ podcast. “Jon Jones was walking down the street, saying some crazy stuff about his kid…if he was on vacation, haven’t we all been there? Maybe not that extreme, but our kids drive us crazy. And you know what the worst part is? When you go back to that hotel room, you’re the bad guy! Everyone’s going to make it like you’re the bad guy for being upset…

“I don’t want to defend him, but come on…haven’t we all been there?”

Despite their fiery rivalry that still burns bright to this day, Cormier has given ‘Bones’ his flowers from time to time.

‘DC’ admitted that Jon Jones was the hardest hitter he’d ever faced in his illustrious career. He even acknowledged that Jones is probably the greatest fighter the sport has ever seen, though he stopped short of crowning the undisputed heavyweight titleholder as MMA’s official GOAT due to his laundry list of police run-ins and legal issues outside of the Octagon.

"Didn’t Threaten to Kill Someone" - Former UFC Champ Calls Out Jon Jones’ Drunken Instagram Rant

It’s become quite clear that UFC star Jon Jones can’t handle his liquor.

The undisputed UFC heavyweight champion has had a long history of both drug and alcohol abuse which resulted in him being stripped of his light heavyweight title not once, but twice. Some would even suggest that his never-ending string of run-ins with the law should disqualify him from obtaining GOAT status while others, like Dana White, think his success in MMA has been made all that more impressive by his shenanigans outside of the Octagon.

Recently, ‘Bones’ once again had fight fans talking for all the wrong reasons when he took to Instagram live in the middle of the night and made a statement that had everyone scratching their heads.

“You go on a trip, and get pissed off, disappointed. And as a Dad, you just wanna kill ’em,” Jones said moments before the video cuts off.

What exactly was that all about? Who the hell knows, but the schtick is getting a little old. On the bright side, he didn’t beat up another police car, or his fiancé. So there’s that.

Ex-UFC Champion Michael Bisping reacts to Jon Jones’ drunken rant

Offering his take on Jones’ latest alcohol-fueled nonsense, former middleweight titleholder Michael Bisping did his best to reserve judgment. After all, he’s been known to knock back a few on a Saturday night when he’s not calling fights Octagon-side. But the fact remains that Bisping is no longer a fighter, nor is he considered to be one of the greatest of all time—with all due respect.

Jones, on the other hand, is active and regarded by many as the best of the best. Perhaps it’s time to start acting like it for the first time in his career and stop threatening to kill people during drunken rants on social media.

“I am the last person to sit here and judge someone for getting drunk, saying something dumb, or saying something that’s been taken out of context,” Bisping said on his Believe You Me podcast. “I’m the last person to do it. The problem is that when you’re the greatest fighter, maybe of all time, in the sport that we’ve ever seen, and we’re all waiting for this big matchup with Tom Aspinall, and then you go on live, and yeah, you’re drunk, there’s just a microscope on you.

“You know, we’re all—listen, I had a couple Saturday night. Oh, you know, I was happy to be home, had a couple of vodkas, got a nice little buzz on, didn’t go to Instagram, didn’t threaten to kill someone.”

It’s certainly not the first time Jones has apparently threatened to kill someone. In March 2024, an “extremely intoxicated” ‘Bones’ allegedly threatened to “kill” a drug testing agent who came to his home to collect a sample. Jones was charged with two misdemeanors stemming from the incident, including assault and interference with communications.

In October, the case was dismissed after Jones agreed to stay out of any trouble for the next 90 days and undergo four hours of anger management.

“I would like to extend my thanks to the justice system for reaching a prompt resolution in this matter, which affirms my innocence,” Jones wrote on X shortly after the ruling.

Here’s a fun throwback to a statement Jon Jones made about his alcohol consumption in 2021:

Chael Sonnen Calls Francis Ngannou The Sole Obstacle To Jon Jones Superfight: “Dana’s Already Announced It’s Going To Happen…”

The former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight title challenger Chael Sonnen has defended UFC boss Dana White, claiming Francis Ngannou to be the roadblock in his highly-anticipated heavyweight clash with Jon Jones. The former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight title challenger Chael Sonnen has defended UFC boss Dana White, claiming Francis Ngannou to be the roadblock in his highly-anticipated heavyweight clash with Jon Jones.

Jones vs Ngannou has easily been one of the most talked-about MMA fights for a couple of years now. However, the deal never reached fruition and differences with White led to the-then UFC heavyweight champion leaving the promotion altogether.

Following his departure from the UFC, “The Predator” explored other opportunities such as boxing fight Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. He also signed with the PFL, becoming their heavyweight champion by defeating Renan Ferreira.

Despite no plans to ever return to the UFC, Ngannou believes a superfight with Jones is still not off the table. In a recent interview, he claimed that Turki Al-Sheikh, the current Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, could intervene and convince White to cross-promote with the PFL for this bout.

However, Ngannou’s narrative that White is blocking the fight with Jones didn’t sit well with MMA fighter turned analyst Sonnen.

Here’s what Sonnen said while putting the blame on the former UFC heavyweight champ for avoiding the Jones fight:

“Poor Francis was in a world title fight, in the fight capital of the world, in the world’s biggest promotion, where he is going to headline. He was not the champion of the world. He wanted to be. He was going to be given that opportunity. Do you understand? Okay. Because it was at that time that it had already been announced by Dana White, this giant obstacle, that when Jon Jones returns to heavyweight, it will be for the belt. So now we don’t, now we don’t only have an obstacle, it doesn’t even fully have to do with Francis. Francis didn’t even have the belt. He was scheduled to fight Stipe, a fight that Francis had already lost. Like, we didn’t know who the champion was going to be, but whoever it was going to be, we were going to stick to the deal and the plan that when Jon comes up, Jon will contest with that person. It’s important that you understand that, because that one detail, in and of itself, that timeline excludes the possibility that Francis was being picked on. It was an open statement that Jon will contend whenever Jon comes back, if he ever comes back, right into a world title fight. That happened to be Francis. And what happened next? Jon came back. So now we have Jon, and we have Francis, and we’re going to get to see Jon versus Francis. People are talking about it. You’re talking about it. Dana’s already announced it’s going to happen.”

Sonnen, being the company-man he is, believes that White cannot be blamed at all for Ngannou and Jones not being able to settle their rivalry inside the Octagon.

Although Jones first fought at heavyweight after over a year of Ngannou’s last UFC outing, “The American Gangster” believes if “The Predator” had not parted ways with the UFC, he would’ve fought “Bones” instead of Ciryl Gane in March 2023.

“But somebody blinked. That somebody, I would view to be the obstacle in this equation. Do you agree? Because that somebody was not Dana White. That somebody was not Jon Jones. As a matter of fact, Dana White went through with the plan exactly as he had previously stated, which is that Jon went right into a title fight. And it’s important that you understand this, because Francis left. So to make believe now that you wanted to do something, when you were in a position to do it, and so now the only thing stopping this fight is Dana White.”

Ngannou is promising his fans worldwide a big comeback to combat sports. In boxing, he definitely can be a part of big fights like the Fury rematch or a possible showdown against the hard-hitting Deontay Wilder. In MMA, he’ll have the option to defend his title against the top heavyweight contenders in the promotion.

UFC Legend 'Mighty Mouse' Says Jon Jones Isn’t Concerned About Tom Aspinall

Jon Jones may not be “too concerned” with Tom Aspinall, but before long, he’ll have no choice but to go toe-to-toe with the best heavyweight in MMA.

While Aspinall was busy both winning and defending the interim UFC heavyweight championship, ‘Bones’ sat on the sidelines while recovering from a pectoral injury and talking up his fight with former two-time titleholder Stipe Miocic.

Now that that fight is finally in the books, all attention has turned to the clash fans actually want to see.

Of course, all of that hinges on whether or not Jon Jones will sign on the dotted line. For more than a year, ‘Bones’ has been completely dismissive of a fight with Aspinall, suggesting that the British slugger is not a big enough name to garner his time or attention.

Demetrious Johnson suggests it’s jon jones’ duty to fight the interim champion, like it or not

During a recent interview with The MMA Guru, former UFC and ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson suggested that as the undisputed heavyweight titleholder, ‘Bones’ has a duty to fight Tom Aspinall, whether he’s “concerned” about the Brit or not.

“Jon Jones is like, I’m not too concerned about Tom Aspinall,” Johnson said. “I was like, um… well, he’s an interim champion. I think—I think by law… [laughs].”

Dana White has expressed confidence that Jones vs. Aspinall will go down in 2025. Johnson even believes that the UFC CEO already has both fighters locked into a date, but with no official announcements, fans continue to remain skeptical.

Will Jones vs. Aspinall go down this year, or will ‘Bones’ opt to retire on top rather than putting his gold and his legacy on the line one last time? That’s the question that only time will tell.

Why Dana White’s Silence Speaks Volume: Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall is a Done Deal According to UFC Legend

Former flyweight great Demetrious Johnson thinks Dana White’s silence speaks volumes.

Ever since Jon Jones’ third-round knockout of Stipe Miocic in November, fight fans have been clamoring for a title unification clash between the undisputed heavyweight champion and Tom Aspinall, the UFC’s current interim heavyweight king.

gettyimages 2185190455 612x612 1

Truth be told, fans were calling for that fight long before then, but with Jones’ business with Miocic finally in the books, there’s nothing stopping the UFC from making the champion vs. champion showdown a reality, other than guaranteeing ‘Bones’ a big fat payday for what could very well be the last fight of his UFC career.

But according to ‘Mighty Mouse,’ the UFC may already have Jones vs. Aspinall locked in.

jones aspinall faceoff 3x2

During a recent interview with The MMA Guru, the former UFC and ONE flyweight world titleholder believes that Dana White’s unusual silence regarding the fight is a strong indication that the promotion already has a deal in place and is just taking its time to make the blockbuster announcement.

“Since Dana White hasn’t gone on, and nobody’s really asked about it, right? Usually, after each pay-per-view or each Fight Night, Dana White’s there, and they’re like, ‘Hey, you know, we haven’t seen any movement from Tom. What’s going on?’ Right? But nobody’s asked, so I think you’re onto something. I think it’s a done deal,” Johnson said.

After KOs Over Sergei Pavlovich and Curtis Blaydes, dana white Can no longer deny Tom Aspinall

After suffering a torn pectoral muscle that took him out of his previously scheduled clash with Moicic at UFC 295, the promotion quickly booked an interim heavyweight title fight between Aspinall and Russian knockout artist Sergei Pavlovich in the evening’s co-main event.

It only took Aspinall 69 seconds to send Pavlovich crashing to the canvas, scoring a quick-fire KO and claiming his first UFC gold.

Since then, Aspinall has defended the interim title, earning another stunning 60-second knockout over Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 in July.

Who Was the Fighter to Drop Jon Jones in Training Adlan Amagov Explained

Who is Adlan Amagov? The Fighter Who Allegedly Dropped Jon Jones in Training. Adlan Amagov is a name that has resurfaced in the MMA world and was recently linked to a surprising disclosure by former UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit. According to Condit, Amagov once dropped Jon Jones, widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history, during a sparring session with a spinning back kick—a feat that stunned many given Jones’ legendary durability. But who is Adlan Amagov, and what is his story?

Who is Adlan Amagov?

Adlan Amagov was a Chechen-Russian athlete. He later moved to Moscow and began training in Combat Sambo under the guidance of renowned fighters like Fedor and Alexander Emelianenko. Amagov transitioned to professional MMA in 2007, debuting with a loss but quickly building an impressive record of 8-1-1 while competing primarily in Russian promotions.

Amagov gained attention for his striking style, particularly his spinning techniques. A viral video of his spinning hook kick knockout in 2010 showcased this.

In 2011, Amagov signed with Strikeforce, where he made an immediate impact by defeating Ron Stallings via split decision and knocking out Anthony Smith in the first round.

After Strikeforce dissolved, Amagov joined the UFC in 2013. Competing as a welterweight, he secured two dominant victories: a unanimous decision win over Chris Spang and a first-round knockout of TJ Waldburger that left his opponent requiring a stretcher. Despite his success, Amagov retired from the UFC shortly after due to injuries. Amagov briefly returned to MMA in 2016 for one final fight in Russia. He defeated Jungle Fight champion Dirlei Broenstrup via submission in the first round before retiring for good.

Jon Jones Dropped In training

Speaking to UFC legend Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson on a recent podcast, Carlos Condit revealed about Jon Jones getting dropped by this figure. He said:

“We get this dude. I don’t know if you guys, you guys ever heard of Adlan Amagov? He’s a Chechen dude, and he fought in the UFC a couple of times. I think in his last fight, man, they carried his opponent out on a stretcher. But yeah, he finished a number of guys. He was like a spinning back kick guy, and he, uh, he f* me up. And then, I think a round or two later, he hit Jon Jones with that spinning back kick… He dropped him.”

Carlos Condit and Jon Jones, two of the most prominent fighters in MMA history, honed their skills at the renowned Jackson Wink MMA Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Condit built his legacy with an aggressive fighting style and captured the interim UFC welterweight title during his career.

Meanwhile, Jon Jones, widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time, began his journey at Jackson Wink and became the youngest UFC champion in history, dominating both the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions. Their time training together at Jackson Wink shows the gym’s reputation as a breeding ground for elite fighters.

The recent revelation about Adlan Amagov’s sparring exploits adds another layer to his legacy as a fighter. While fans may wonder how far he could have gone had he continued competing, Amagov remains an intriguing figure.
