A ten fighter Royal Rumble went down live from Spain with a floating cage and some incredible MMA action. In a shocking display of combat sports extremism, the Dogfight Wild Tournament, Spain’s controversial MMA organization, held its most chaotic event to date.

The event is the brainchild of Spanish internet personality Jordi Wild. As the ten combatants stepped into the specially designed enclosure the audience went wild. The cage was raised off the ground. The rules were simple: the last man standing would be declared the winner, with no time limit and minimal restrictions on techniques.

Ten fighters, including Roger Dalet “Goliat”, Julián Calvo “Hulki”, Adama Sakera “Black Diamond”, Iván Rullo “The Electric”, Humber García, Martí Rodríguez “Kiko”, Amuyen de Martín “The Cat”, Alex Quílez “The Killer”, Juan Marín “The Wuan”, and Raymison Bruno “Formiga” fought.

The bout started with confusion as most fighters weren’t certain if the fight had started as it officially hadn’t but the fights were underway. Some fighters were ganged up on while others were left without an opponent. Seven were eliminated by TKO, Submission, or shove out which left three.

Due to a possible false start, they began again. This time the smaller fighters seemed to coordinate and gang up on the bigger fighters. Eventually, it was narrowed down to three competitors. Then finally just two remained and it ended with a head and arm choke.

The blue team wasted no time and opened the match with a flying knee, followed by a brawl and dropping one fighter from the red team. The other two combatants threw punches and then began grappling from full guard.

The blue team fighter rained down ground and pound against his opponent but then the red team fighter rolled for an ankle lock while the other two combatants were locked in a clinch.

The red team fighter left his opponent to attack the blue team fighter in a 2 vs. 1, but then the blue team fighter tapped out from the ankle lock. It was then 2 red fighters versus only 1 blue fighter.

Red team got up and attacked the one blue team fighter until the blue corner threw in the towel. The red team of Badnews and Gaps walked away with the victory. But then a twist!

Dubbed “The 750-Pound Fight” (though, in reality, it was closer to 800 pounds), this clash of titans in April 2007 was it was a seismic event that physicists would study for generations.

On one side, you had Butterbean, the 5’11”, 350-pound striker, known for his no-nonsense knockouts and unique appearance. His signature bald head and immense round frame made him impossible to miss. He looked like an American Doctor Eggman. With 77 wins in professional boxing, 58 of those by knockout, Butterbean was a walking wrecking ball.

On the other side loomed Zuluzinho, a colossus at 6’7″ and tipping the scales at a jaw-dropping 407 pounds. With his massive size, he was an intimidating figure who, at least on paper, seemed like an immovable object. For Japanese audiences of the Kakutogi-boom era, giants such as Bob Sapp and Hongman Choi were simply too small. They only whet the appetite. These audiences begged for something bigger. And Zuluzinho was the answer to their giant fight cravings.

When two objects of this magnitude collide the formation of a black hole should occur. Instead, what we got was Butterbean, the human wrecking ball, channeling his inner astrophysicist and Gracie by using leverage and torque to topple a man who could easily double as a celestial object.

For Zuluzinho, it was a rough night. Losing to a man half a foot shorter and best known for punching Johnny Knoxville wasn’t exactly the highlight of his career. But for us normal-sized mortals, it was pretty fun.
