Brazil’s Douglas Silva de Andrade has a professional MMA career spanning over 15 years. He is known for his striking and knockout power. With 20 wins by KO and two by submission, he has proven himself as a dangerous finisher, particularly in the early rounds.

Silva de Andrade has also earned multiple performance bonuses in the UFC, showing his ability to deliver exciting bouts. His career highlights include victories over names like Cody Stamann and Marlon Vera, though he has faced setbacks against elite opponents such as Petr Yan and Said Nurmagomedov. At 39 years old, Silva de Andrade brings experience and resilience but may face questions about his consistency after alternating wins and losses in recent bouts.

“Sexi Mexi” John Castañeda, on the other hand, is known for his cardio and ability to adapt during fights. While not as prolific a finisher as Silva de Andrade, Castañeda’s balanced approach could pose challenges for the Brazilian if the fight extends into later rounds. Castañeda is looking to climb the bantamweight rankings and solidify his position within the UFC.

This fight carries significant stakes for both fighters. For Silva de Andrade, it’s an opportunity to prove he remains a threat in the division despite his age and recent inconsistencies. For Castañeda, it’s a chance to secure a notable win against a veteran opponent and build momentum toward higher-profile matchups.

With the betting odds favoring Castañeda, the fight presents a compelling narrative: the veteran Silva de Andrade fighting to prove his relevance in the division versus the younger, more consistent Castañeda aiming to climb the rankings. Fans can expect a high-stakes battle.

Renan Barao is finally moving up as he faces Douglas Silva at the UFC’s upcoming Sao Paulo event on November 16.

That’s according to a Combate report which states the former bantamweight champion will return to featherweight as he hopes to end his recent winless run.

Barao is currently on a four-fight losing skid and has also lost six of his last seven outings. In addition to his losses, he has also struggled to make the 135-pound limit. His last two bouts saw him notably come in heavy resulting in a percentage of his purse being given to his opponent.

Hopefully, the extra 10 pounds sees Barao change his fortunes.

Silva, meanwhile, will also be moving up to featherweight. The Brazilian went 3-2 at bantamweight and is coming off a TKO defeat to Petr Yan in December last year.

UFC Sao Paulo will be headlined by a pivotal light heavyweight bout as Jan Blachowicz welcomes Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza to the division.

What do you think of Barao moving up? Do you think he can perform better at featherweight? Or is it time for him to retire?
