At Misfits 007 KSI faced Joe Fournier. The match proceeded as planned, with KSI having earned the lead when everything took a turn for the unexpected in the second round. Darren Till seemingly has his sights set on money fights before he makes his UFC return

The Liverpool native has come a long way since the beginning of his MMA career. Once the shining star for UK prospects and touted as a future champion, the beloved star has recently announced he will be stepping away from the sport of MMA.

The news struck shortly after Till’s last fight against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 282. The UK star claimed he needed time to find himself again and reassess things. 1-4 in his last five fights, Till has been experiencing quite a slump.

“What’s happening everyone, Me, Dana & Hunter are still cool as f***,” Till said. I asked UFC 2 remove me just 2 sort some other shit for the foreseeable, They happily agreed to release me out of contract which I appreciate. I’m not going anywhere, got big plans to execute & I’ll be back.”

Now, it seems that Till is ready to get back to competing in combat sports. With his recent callout of KSI, a fight between the two could provide the spark Darren Till needs to get back to his old winning ways.

Will the once highly touted UK star ever capture that elusive UFC title, and what do you think of his callout of KSI?

Despite departing the UFC earlier this year following an eight-year stay in the promotion, former welterweight title challenger, Darren Till still remains confident of striking middleweight gold in the Octagon within the next two to three years, maintaining he can still win a championship under the organization’s banner.

Till, a former welterweight title challenger under the UFC banner and a former middleweight contender, ended his eight-year tenure with the Dana White-led promotion earlier this year, however, noted his intentions to return in the future, as he attempts to address a long-standing knee injury.

Fighting former undisputed middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker at a UFC event on ‘Fight Island’ back in July of 2020, Liverpool striker, Till suffered a knee injury, which has plagued him since, resulting in multiple withdrawals from scheduled fights.

“100 percent, I want the middleweight belt,” Darren Till told Neue Online Casinos. “My aspirations haven’t changed in that sense. Money comes and money goes, but I’ve still got that mindset that I’m only 30. Most of the UFC champions are 34 or 35 – so I know I can do it. I just need to be directed in the right way and make sure my body is fit and healthy and my mind is too.”

“Regardless of how much money I make outside the UFC, ultimately my goal is to be back having those big fights in the UFC two to three years,” Darren Till explained. (Transcribed by MMA Mania)

Till, a former undisputed welterweight title challenger and middleweight contender under the banner of the UFC, departed the organization late last month after an eight-year stay with the promotion.

Most recently featuring on the main card of UFC 282 in December of last year, Liverpool native Till suffered an eventual third round rear-naked choke submission loss to surging South African contender, Dricus du Plessis.

The defeat came as Till’s third consecutively under the promotion’s scrutiny, following a previous submission loss to Derek Brunson, and a decision defeat against former undisputed middleweight gold holder, Robert Whittaker.

Darren Till insists he still has a good relationship with UFC leader, Dana White

Confirming his plans to revisit a return to the UFC in the future, Till admitted that while he has a good working relationship with president, White – he urged fighters to remember that promoters across combat sports should be associated with the word “c*nt”.

“I’m no longer with the UFC,” Darren Till told iFL TV during a recent interview. “95 percent of people that leave the UFC, leave on bad terms. There’s always a spat with Dana (White) and stuff like that. Why do you think I’ve got such a good relationship with Dana? Dana’s a decent guy, he thinks I’m a decent guy, but I know what Dana’s purpose in the fight game is. He wants to put on the best fights, he’s a fan himself, and he wants to make a f*cking sh*t ton of money.”

“Why am I, the fighter, gonna start getting offended when Dana’s doing those three things? This is what I don’t understand…” Darren Till explained. “Like, let’s say in boxing, people give [Eddie Hearn] sh*t. Like, okay, maybe he does things wrong… [But] at the end of the day, the man is about making cheddar. What are you getting your feelings hurt for? Promoter, we put the definition, ‘C*nt’. Just think, ‘Promoter, definition: c*nt.’ So, stop getting hurt, stop being a b*tch, and you’ll be okay.” (Transcribed by MMA News

Darren Till responds to Dillon Danis

In an interview with The Mac Life, ‘The GorillaTill responded to Danis. He said:

“What’s he on about, Dillon? I’ve never said one thing about him. His little gang, his little mates from like Conor, I know all his mates from Ireland. I know them all, I get on really well with them all. So what’s he talking s*** for like? I can’t physically or mentally respond to the guy because he argues and trolls everyone. For me, why would I even get worked up about a guy like that, who pulled out of a fight with KSI like? What am I gonna gain from responding to Dillon Danis? Like, what mate? What?”

The English-born athlete continued:

“Even with me last few losses, I consider myself a very good fighter. I wouldn’t waste me time with a guy like that. What is that guy even about? I don’t get it.”
