The lineup for UFC Saudi Arabia on Feb. 1 has taken a hit after middleweight André Muniz ran into passport issues while attempting to fly to the Middle East.

After closing out its short January schedule with a memorable UFC 311 pay-per-view in Los Angeles, the mixed martial arts leader will hit the road to kick off February at Riyadh’s anb Arena next weekend.

Headlining UFC Saudi Arabia will be former two-time middleweight champion Israel Adesanya as he looks to bounce back at the expense of rising contender Nassourdine Imavov. Plenty of intrigue also surrounds the co-main event, in which the unbeaten Shara Magomedov will welcome Michael “Venom” Page to the division for a one-off outing at 185 pounds.

Beyond those contests, a fairly deep UFC Saudi Arabia card was put together. But as has already been the case in 2025, no lineup is safe from late blows.

In this instance, a middleweight clash between the formerly ranked Muniz and last year’s headliner in Saudi Arabia, Ikram Aliskerov, has fallen through. The Brazilian took to Instagram on Sunday to reveal that an unexpected issue with his passport prevented travel to Riyadh.

Both men are now off the card, with Muniz noting that the UFC intends on rebooking the fight for a later date.

“Unfortunately, neither I nor my team, nor the UFC, knew about this in time to let us know, and I haven’t been able to go through the entire process to get this document yet,” Muniz said in Portuguese (h/t MMA Junkie). “The UFC thought it would be better to reschedule my fight with the same opponent, but it took another date. I’m waiting for you to set the date right away, and that’s it.”

The news further delays Muniz’s long-awaited return. The submission specialist hasn’t competed since December 2023, when he outpointed JunYong Park to rebound from a two-fight losing skid.

Aliskerov, meanwhile, was hoping for redemption in the Middle East on Feb. 1 after falling to a first-round knockout in his late-notice main event against Robert Whittaker seven months ago.

With this cancellation, the current lineup for UFC Saudi Arabia next Saturday is as follows:

  • Israel Adesanya vs. Nassourdine Imavov
  • Sharabutdin Magomedov vs. Michael Page
  • Sergei Pavlovich vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik
  • Said Nurmagomedov vs. Vinicius Oliveira
  • Muhammad Naimov vs. Kaan Ofli
  • Shamil Gaziev vs. Thomas Petersen
  • Damir Hadzovic vs. Terrance McKinney
  • Mike Davis vs. Fares Ziam
  • Jasmine Jasudavicius vs. Mayra Bueno Silva
  • Lucas Alexander vs. Bogdan Grad
  • Abdul-Kerim Al-Selwady vs. Bolaji Oki

Paul Craig lands ground elbows knockout win over Andre Muniz UFC London Highlights

Returning to the winner’s enclosure in his middleweight divisional bow, Scottish grappler, Paul Craig has turned in another stoppage under the banner of the UFC, landing an eventual second round ground elbows TKO win over Brazilian grappler, Andre Muniz in a main card pairing.

Making his middleweight divisional bow following a pair of back-to-back losses to both Volkan Oezdemir and Johnny Walker in his two most recent outings, Airdrie native, Craig is likely set to earn a spot in the top-15 of the middleweight pile come Tuesday and the new ranking updates, laying waste to Dana White’s Contender Series product, Muniz tonight.

Scrambling with the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace in a grappling-heavy second round exchange, Craig swept the Brazilian before backing him to the fence, and laying down a slew of ground elbows, eventually turning in a TKO stoppage victory.

Brendan Allen and Andre Muniz found themself in an impromptu middleweight main event at UFC Vegas 70 on Saturday night after the broadcast team revealed that the originally scheduled main event between Ryan Spann and Nikita Krylov was scrapped with the former coming down with food poisoning.

Both fighters walked into the bout with winning streaks on the line. Brendan Allen entered the contest winning his last three matches inside the Octagon. Not to be outdone, Muniz entered riding a nine-fight win streak dating back to 2017 before he debuted with the UFC. Muniz also put his spot as the No. 11 ranked middleweight on the line against the currently unranked Allen.

The first round saw both fighters landing big strikes throughout. Andre Muniz did attempt to take things to the ground with a single leg, but Allen defended perfectly and stayed upright. Allen caught Muniz early with a big left hand that knocked him back against the fence, but Allen was unable to capitalize as Muniz recovered quickly.

Neither man gained a significant advantage in the first round, but Muniz looked to change that in the second with a takedown attempt, but Allen was able to reverse position and end up on top with three minutes to go in the round. With a minute to go, Allen smoothly transitioned to side mount where he maintained control, dropping the occasional elbow until the round came to a close.

The third round saw both fighters keep things on their feet in the opening minutes. Muniz began to land some solid strikes. Allen worked to counter but was unable to land anything as powerful as the opposition. With two minutes to go, Muniz threw a body kick that Allen caught and used it to slam Muniz to the mat, immediately taking side control. Allen transitioned to mount and began fishing for an arm triangle. Muniz gave up his back in defense allowing Allen to lock in both hooks and cinch his arm under Muniz’s chin forcing the tap out.

Official Result: Brendan Allen def. Andre Muniz via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:25 of Round 3
