Khabib only fought once in 2019 but his presence was felt throughout the year.

The year opened up unceremoniously for Nurmagomedov, with the champ being offered a reduced suspension if he agreed to participate in an anti-bullying PSA.

For the longest time it seemed like he could not let go of his hatred for Conor McGregor. Sniping over social media came to a boil in a twitter tirade that seemed to be squashed by UFC lawyers.

Nurmagomedov seemed to move on when he became of the centerpiece of UFC 242 and set his sights on Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi.

The Eagle emerged victorious,

And it appears that we will finally see Nurmagomedov defend his title against Tony Ferguson. There’s a part of me that feels like now is the best time. Nurmagomedov’s rivalry with Conor McGregor is mostly extinguished due to the thoroughness of his win.

Let’s just keep our fingers crossed til April.

Take care of yourself and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
