UFC Seattle went down last night (Sat., Feb. 22, 2025) inside Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, which saw Song Yadong win a technical decision over Henry Cejudo after an inadvertent eye poke forced a stoppage in the action. In the co-main event, Anthony Hernandez defeated Brendan Allen via unanimous decision to win his seventh in a row.

Biggest Winner: Ricky Simon
There were a lot of great finishes last night, but perhaps none better than Simon’s devastating knockout win over Javid Basharat on the undercard (see it again here). While a great stoppage victory, Simon also gets the nod here because he was in desperate need of a win since he was coming into the event on three straight losses, with his last win coming 2.5 years ago. Another loss could have sent him packing out of the promotion, but not only does he get a new lease on his combat life, but he is $50,000 richer following his performance.

Runner Up: Anthony Hernandez
“Fluffy” just keeps on winning, securing his seventh straight win inside the Octagon, an setting a record for most takedowns at Middleweight with 47. He now has two wins over Allen, defeating him early on in their careers under the Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) banner seven years ago. The victory should put Hernandez into the Top 10 for the first time in his career, setting him up for bigger and better things moving forward.

Biggest Loser: Nikolay Veretennikov
There are sore losers, and then there is Nikolay Vetettenikov, who let his emotions get the best of him after losing to Austin Vanderford via second-round technical knockout (TKO) in the opening fight of the night (see it here). Indeed, shortly after the referee put an end to the fight — which was the right call — Veretennikov cut Vanderford’s celebration short by going up to him and pushing him in the back, which lead to a similar response from “The Gentleman.” Thankfully, officials stepped in to prevent further escalation. Nevertheless, it was a boneheaded move from Veretennikov, who will now be nervous to see what, if any, punishment comes down from the UFC higher-ups. If you recall, Paul Daley was banned from the promotion after he kit Josh Koscheck with a cheap shot after their fight back in 2010. When you couple the fact that Veretennikov is 0-2 inside the Octagon, the chances of him receiving the same fate increase.
