2025 IBJJF Pans preview: Can BJJ stars Dalpra, Reis, Pato continue path to Grand Slam Title?

After the IBJJF Euros in January, the IBJJF Pans is the second of four major IBJJF tournaments in 2025, with the World Championship and Brazilian Nationals happening later in the year.

12 gold medalists from the IBJJF Euros are set to return for the IBJJF Pans, including world champion grapplers in Tainan Dalpra, Diogo Reis, Diego Pato, Adam Wardzinski, Mayssa Bastos and Gabi Pessanha. It’ll be interesting to see which of these BJJ stars can take another step towards winning all four majors and achieve the distinction as an “IBJJF Grand Slam” winner.

Much like the IBJJF Euros, featherweight will be the most stacked division in the IBJJF Pans, with six-time world champ Diego Pato, no gi world champ Cole Abate, and IBJJF world champ Samuel Nagai all joining. Dalpra will be a favorite at middleweight, but Pedro Maia and Atos standouts Andy Murasaki and Rolando Samson will all be looking for the upset.

In the women’s side of things, lightweight is pretty deep with six-time IBJJF world champ Luiza Monteiro, ADCC trials winner Alex Enriquez, and 2025 IBJJF Euros winner Janaina Lebre competing.

Lower belts start on the first couple of days, with the list of competitors found here. Black belt Master divisions start on Thursday (Mar. 20, 2025), while Adult black belt divisions happen on the final two days of the event (Mar. 22-23, 2025).
