Former UFC champ T.J. Dillashaw has released a lengthy statement about his close loss to Dominick Cruz.

On Tuesday, T.J. Dillashaw released a statement on social media about his recent loss to Dominick Cruz. In the lengthy note on Instagram, the former UFC champion congratulated his opponent, asked for a rematch, and surprisingly called out Joe Rogan for being “biased”.

“Man I’m so lucky that I get to do what I love everyday of my life and put on shows for the world. Love being a martial artist and the person it has made me,” Dillashaw wrote. “Like me or hate me for what ever reason and think what ever you believe to be true, I just appreciate you watching and hope you enjoyed that fight.”

“Congrats to Cruz for enduring everything he has and being able to come out and perform at his best, true respect for his determination and athletic ability.”

“I know everyone has their right to their own opinion but as I laid in bed the last two nights not able to sleep thinking how I lost that fight baffled me,” he continued. “Not saying that it was a robbery because I knew that it was a close fight and have no one to blame but myself for leaving it that fu#king close. Did not fight my best and definitely things I could have done different laying there thinking to myself.”

“Finally got a chance to watch the fight on my flight home today and after watching I’m even more confident I won that fight! Even the two rounds I was initially giving to him were much closer when I rewatched it, to be fair I gave my self three rounds but have no problem saying I won four rounds. @joerogan might need to go back and watch it again to hear how biased he was commentating, I agree with you it was a good close fight but think you picked Cruz before the fight started.”

“HOLY SHIT WHAT A GOOD FIGHT! Better than I remember and want to do it again. Please Cruz, don’t retire and give me that shot so I can get back what I believe is mine.”

Urijah Faber scored it 4-1 for Dominick Cruz, calls him out for trilogy

Urijah Faber thought new UFC champ Dominick Cruz rightfully won the decision, and called him out for a trilogy.

Prior to Sunday’s UFC title bout, Urijah Faber has stated that he was rooting for T.J. Dillashaw, and hoped that he would be the one to take the belt from his former teammate. Things didn’t exactly go as planned, with Dominick Cruz winning a close decision to regain the UFC belt he never lost in the cage.

While some have debated the scorecards, Faber acknowledged the closeness of some rounds but still scored it for Cruz with a wide margin.

We have @UrijahFaber in the media room and he said he thought it was 4-1 @TheDomin8r Also said it could have been 3-2 or 5-0. damn.

Following the contest, the top ranked bantamweight did make his case for a title shot as he called out Cruz.

“Cruz, you have got to give it to him. What a journey he has been on,” Faber told Fox Sports. “He’s a real champion, he’s a true champion, he’s only lost to one team, that’s Team Alpha Male. He’s only lost to one guy, that’s me.”

“And I feel like I beat him the second time also. I connected to his chin. I know he feels like he’s hard to hit. I found his chin, his butt found the ground, and I’m going to make that happen again. So let’s do it, Dom! this has been a long time coming.”

“I’ve been sticking around a couple extra years just to let you heal up buddy! You’re not made for battle. Thank goodness you made it out this thing, hopefully alive, hopefully, the foot’s okay. Let’s do this!”

Cruz was shaking his head in response.

“I don’t even want to talk about that guy. We’re still talking about him?” Cruz responded. “How many title shots has he had?”

Faber and Cruz are 1 and 1 with each other. Urijah won the first match up with a guillotine choke in a featherweight bout back in 2007 to defend his WEC belt. Four years later at UFC 132, Cruz won their second meeting by decision as he defend his UFC bantamweight strap.

To answer Dominick’s question, Faber has had 3 title shots in the UFC, and 2 more at featherweight in the WEC since he lost his belt.

After winning the UFC title, Dominick Cruz took a swipe at Kenny Florian’s recent plagiarism controversies.

Kenny Florian, quit copying and pasting man!”

That was Dominick Cruz, at the end of his post-fight speech after his big win over T.J. Dillashaw. He took a bit of a jab at Florian’s recent controversy with plagiarism, which was an infraction that got him suspended. When asked about the swipe at Kenny, Cruz did explain after that it was just a friendly ‘poke’ at his fellow Fox analyst.

“That’s friendly fire. I like Kenny, you know,” Cruz said during the post-fight press conference. “He didn’t pick me in the fight. He gave me really no chance in this fight, so it’s just a little poke.”

“Nothing big. He’s got great hair.”

Another bout, another first round KO for Cris Cyborg.

It may have lasted a bit longer than her past two contests, but Cris Cyborg still managed to dispatch yet another opponent in the first round. Daria Ibragimova had a game plan to try and take Justino down, but the dominant champion defended the clinch well, and even landed some good shots while being pressed on the fence.

Once they separated and Cyborg got space though, it was all over. A huge punch even got the challenger spinning as she dropped down to the floor, and Cyborg pounced to end the fight with only a couple of seconds left on the opening round.

This was Cyborg’s 3rd defense of her Invicta featherweight crown, and she has gone undefeated since 2005.

Justino is running out of opponents willing to face her, so it would be interesting to see how she gets matched up moving forward. Following Rousey’s loss, Cyborg has ruled out dropping down to 135 lbs, but has stated that she’d be willing to face Holly Holm at a catchweight.

Also on the card, Livia Renata Souza defended her strawweight title with a first round stoppage against DeAnna Bennett, and TUF standout Angela Hill made quick work of Alida Gray during her Invicta debut.
